Sarah Gainer, DVM
Dr. Sarah Gainer graduated from Iowa State University in 2025 and is just beginning her journey as a veterinarian with Prairie Animal Hospital, though she’s been gradually becoming part of the team over the past 2 years. We are very excited to welcome her to the team!
She has a special interest in clinical pathology and preventative medicine for small animals and equids/horses. She has a broad passion for veterinary medicine, with special interests in internal medicine and orthopedic surgery.
"One of the most rewarding parts of veterinary medicine is the opportunity to teach owners about what is going on with the health of their pets. My goal is to educate all my owners so they feel empowered to make the best decisions for their animals."
Outside the clinic, Dr. Gainer enjoys many hobbies she set aside during vet school. An avid hiker, camper, and kayaker, she loves living in the beautiful Coeur d’Alene area. She also has a background in studio art and still enjoys painting and creating whenever she can.
