Andrew Nicholson, DVM
Dr. Andrew Nicholson earned his Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science from the University of Idaho before completing his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine at Washington State University in 2013. His desire to help people care for their animals inspired him to become a veterinarian. Dr. Nicholson has been a valued member of the Prairie Animal Hospital family for 13 years and proudly serves as one of our practice owners!
He has a special passion for orthopedic surgery and finds the most rewarding part of his work is helping people care for their pets, whether they are sick, injured, or in need of preventive care. "The most rewarding aspect of my job as a veterinarian is being able to help people with their pets, whether they are sick, injured, or preventing illness."
He and his wife, Abby, enjoy raising their four children—Andy, Ace, Emmy, and Abe—on their farm, where they share their home with pigs, chickens, turkeys, dogs, rabbits, and cats. When he’s not at the clinic, Dr. Nicholson loves woodworking and spending quality time playing with his kids. He also enjoys working around the farm, participating in Trail Life activities with his boys, and fishing on the lake. Though he no longer works with dairy cows, they remain his favorite animal.
